The two women peering through the window glanced at each other.

“Did you see that, ma’am?” the guard asked.

“What?” Zaer replied, unsure of what the woman was talking about.

“I can’t be sure. Were they… were they speaking?”

Zaer frowned and looked back into the room. Speaking? The men could barely grunt, how could they be speaking? It had been a long day. She had no more patience left.

“Nonsense. Clean this up and see him back to his quarters. I shall be back tomorrow.”

With that, Zaer turned on her heel and walked quickly toward the lift doors. Watching the pair had made her quite excited. It was time for a bath, some dinner, and then a discreet request below decks that the man she’d met earlier be brought upstairs. Finally, it was her turn to unwind.
